Part 35

Happy Reading!

Abhishek's POV:

Days are going in a blink. It's been already a week since we confessed our feelings. But do I get enough of hearing her, no! A big no. I never knew I am such a great listener, until my wife started talking.

"Bhai where are you lost huh?" Ashika asked with an annoyed face. I looked around and yeah well everyone looks pissed with me. I just smiled sheepishly and started arranging the things.

It's Arohi's birthday day after tomorrow and also a long weekend, so we decided to go for an outing and give her a surprise. I called her parents and they must be reaching anytime, as their train already arrived 30 min ago. Varun and Ritika went to pick them up. They were both fighting so mom sent them both. Well everyone is tired with their fights and my zoning out.

"Abhi what did you get for our daughter?" Dad asked.

"A dress" I said with a proud look and mom threw me a glare. "What? It's a nice one and of her liking"

"You are good for nothing. Just like your father" mom said and left with Ashika.

"Dad can't you gift mom one nice thing?" I asked my father whose mouth is open because of mom's comment.

"It's a Mehra thing Abhi" Dadu said laughing "our wives don't like our gifts. Just like you mom your Dadi also never liked any gifts I gave her. She always said that I am good for nothing when it comes to gifts"

Is that so? But whenever I gave Arohi something she always liked them and praised it. I have a good choice and my wife loves me a lot. I grinned internally.

"Don't flatter yourself, Arohi will show you your place" dad said with a smirk.

"I have a better choice than you dad. Who gives their wife a freaking reading glasses as a gift" I said with a duh look.

"She wanted it and hers' were broken. It was genuine and useful" he retorted and dadu laughed.

I rolled my eyes and instructed the butlers.

"Oh you guys came just on time" Mom chirped and then I saw Arohi's family entering the hall.

I smiled and touched their feet and hugged Nikhil. "How was the journey" I asked

"It was good beta" Maa replied.

The rest engaged in the conversation and we heard the arrival of a car. Arohi entered the hall with bags and her hands and her eyes widened looking at everyone. One butler took her bags and she ran to her family and hugged them. I can see tears in her eyes.

"I missed you so much" she said hugging her parents

"We missed you too beta" papa kissed her forehead.

She ruffled her brother's hairs and looked at him with narrowed eyes, then hugged him. "Didn't miss you di" he chuckled and she pouted.

"When did you guys come and why didn't you inform me?" she asked with narrowed eyes.

"We reached just now. And well we forgot to inform you" maa replied with a shrug.

She frowned at them and went to dadu with a pout and complained "Dadu see these people don't love me anymore. Scold them and punish them"

Dadu laughed and hugged her "Veena Indrajeet, don't trouble my grand-daughter" he turned to her "Aru forget them all, you are precious to me" she smiled at him and smirked at others.

"Okay okay drama-queen, maa papa laksh, you go and get freshened up. You all also get changed, then we have to leave." they nodded and mom dad showed them their rooms.

"Leave? Where are we going" she asked me with a raised brow.

I pulled her towards me and leaned to peck her lips. "Baby it's a long weekend so we are going for a picnic." She made a 'o' face.

We heard a throat clearing and looked at Ritika giving us a dreamy look and Varun giving us a cringy look. I rolled my eyes at them and took Arohi to our room.

"I have packed your everything, check it once and tell me if anything, I will get it for you and change into that dress" saying I went into the washroom.

When I came back I saw Arohi in a beautiful floral summer dress that I bought for her. It is yellow summer dress with white flower print. She was setting her hairs and I hugged her from back. She smiled at me through the mirror and I nuzzled her neck.

Before I could take it any further someone knocked on the door and I groaned. Arohi giggled and opened the door to see mom standing their. She told us to come downstairs and I took our bags and we left. The cars were already ready when we came to the parking lot. I gave the bags to the driver and he placed it inside with others.

We were total 11 people so we took 2 SUVs. The elder clan in one and the kids gang in one. The farmhouse where we are going is a 3 hours drive from here. It's 11 now, so we will reach by 2.

The whole ride was filled with gossips and gigles, snacks and drinks, and yeah Arohi, Ashika and Ritika vibing on songs. We stopped at one place in between for washroom and food, then continued the journey.

To be continued...
