PART 70

Happy Reading!

Author's POV:

I along with Abhir came to the supermarket because we are short on spices and some veggies.

Since the morning Arohi got herself busy for the preparations of the lunch.

Abhira was fast asleep and to lessen the work for Arohi I bought him with me.

"Dada dada" I can never get tired of hearing this.

"Yes baby"

"Les tke choco for Ru" he said pointing towards the chocolate section.

I picked him up "Pull all the chocolates in your hand" he giggled.

His small hands grabbed as many chocolates as it can. Obviously I bought even more. And for my big baby as well.

After buying all the items we headed down the road to the patisserie to buy some desert.

"Which one?"

"Tis one. My fvorte" he pointed at the fruit cake. My son!

"It is my favourite also" he squealed with happiness.

We bought fruit cake for guests and 2 chocolate pastries for the girls.

I drove home and the scene when I opened the door made me shocked.

Everything is spread all over. Nothing is at place.

I went to the kitchen to see it messed up as well. Arohi's face has flour at places.

"Arohi what's all this?" I asked her. She turned, her face filled with horror.

"They will be here in an hour and nothing is ready. The room is not set. The table is not set. Oh fuck I didn't prepare desert. How will I manage everything Abhi. This is a bad idea we shouldn't have called them over" she said in a go.

"Hey hey calm down okay. Everything will be fine. We will prepare it okay. I will clean the living room and set the table. I even bought desert so relax baby"

"Really? God I love you so much" she encircled her arms around me.

"I love you too" I kissed her temple.

"Now let's get to work hmm" she nodded.

We first cleaned the kitchen counter and shifted the prepared dishes on the containers.

Then with the help of tiny hands' we cleaned the living room and set the table. Abhira also picked up flowers and put them in the vase.

In an hour everything was done. Arohi took a shower and changed into new clothes and even forced us as well.

"Happy now" I said back hugging her and stared peppering kisses on her neck.

"Mm hm" she turned and put the carrot in my mouth. Urghh.

The bell rang and she opened the door. It was Ritika and Varun.

"Hey bhabhi" Varun greeted her and side hugged her. I glared at him.

"Hi" Ritika and Arohi said at the same time.

"Come inside" they came inside.

The kids stated jumping on the couch seeing them "Chachu Masi" the shouted.

They both also grinned and hugged and kissed them. They bought chocolate for them and they got even more happier.

"Seriously bhabhi this much formality now?" Varun asked when Arohi served them water. "Sit down and relax we will make ourselves at home"

"It's alright you came to my house for the first time" she mentioned.

"No we came that da..." Ritika said in a daze but then the room went silent.

Author's POV:

The lingering tension in the room made the environment more tense. The kids looked at them with curios gaze as to why they are slient.

Arohi and Ritika had both a feeling of anger, pain and regret for each other.

There friendship was always precious for them. They were like the soul sisters. They were inseparable and now this distance is killing them both. But neither is ready to talk first. The things said and done the other day has made the situation different.

Ritika wants her best friend back but the things that happened in past hold her back. She can't forget it. (You will know the reason in Ritika's book)

Arohi took wants her best friend back but the words Ritika said really hurt her. She wants to talk to her but she can't.

Arohi shrieked when someone hugged her from back. She turned around to look at Caroline.

"OMG Care you scared me" Arohi said keeping a hand over her heart which was beating so fast.

"Awww my girl" she hugged her again and this time Arohi reciprocated.

"Aunty Care" the kids got so many to see Caroline. For them she is just like their mother but a cooler one 🤫🫢

"My babies" the kids ran to her and she hugged them tightly.

"We mished you" they both kissed her cheeks.

"Aww my babies I missed you too" she sat on the couch with the kids.

The kids started telling Caroline about all the things happened when she was away.

Ritika and Varun were also watching this. They saw how close the kids were to Caroline.

Ritika felt hurt seeing this. She always said that when Arohi will have kids she will pamper them the most and will be their cool masi, but turns out they got another cool aunty.

Varun saw the hurt in her eyes so he held her hand and let her dig her nails in his hand. He knows her and her habits way too well. With a squeeze of hand he assured her that he is with her.

Abhishek saw this happening and he was happy that they both are giving this thing between them a chance.

"Okay kids now let Caroline freshen up first then do your rants hmm" Arohi said coming from the kitchen with refreshments.

They nodded and went to their father and sat on his laps.

"Tell me you guys didn't do anything in my room" Caroline asked with mischief. They both turned red at her remark.

"Shut up Care. The kids are here" Arohi glared her friend who laughed and went to her room.

Abhishek smirked seeing her blushing face.

They chit chatted for a while when the doorbell rang.

"Welcome uncle aunty" Arohi welcomed them inside. Mr. & Mrs. Kensington they are, who are Caroline's parents.

"Arohi my dear we missed you and the kids so much" Mrs. Kensington said taking her in a warm embrace.

"We missed you too" she smiled. "How's your health now uncle"

"Perfect as always" he laughed when his wife glared him. He was hospitalized a week before only.

Mr. Kensington looked at Abhishek and went to him. His expression strict and eyes hold the power to make a person beg.

"You must be Arohi's husband right" he asked.

"Yes sir. Nice to meet you" he extended his hand for a handshake.

"How did you get the audacity to ......."
